The drive from Ventura
The common route is the Ventura Freeway (US 101) to the Santa Paula Freeway (CA 126), south on Wells Road to Highway 118, then east through Moorpark and Simi Valley to De Soto Avenue. Plan on about 47 miles and around an hour. Taking the 101 east the whole way to De Soto is the other option.

A surf town and a county seat
Ventura is officially the City of San Buenaventura, named for the mission Junípero Serra founded in 1782. It is the county seat, with 110,763 residents at the 2020 census. The town has a strong outdoor identity. Surfer's Point at Seaside Park is known for consistent waves, the pier runs about 1,700 feet, and Channel Islands National Park is headquartered at Ventura Harbor. Patagonia is based here too.
What Ventura orders look like
Surf, outdoor, and beach brands
Small surf and outdoor labels are a natural DTF customer. They want art-heavy prints, faded vintage looks, and short runs on garment-dyed tees. DTF prints full color with no screens, so a sunset gradient or a hand drawn wave doesn't need extra screens or setup. Our guide to starting a clothing brand with DTF covers the first drop.
Schools and Ventura College
Ventura Unified runs high schools including Ventura High, Buena High, and Foothill Technology High School. Ventura College adds clubs and teams. Spirit wear and club shirts are steady work year round.
Fair and harbor events
The Ventura County Fair is held every summer at the Ventura County Fairgrounds by the beach. 4-H and FFA groups, vendors, and volunteer crews all wear matching shirts. Harbor businesses that run boat trips also order crew tees and staff hoodies.
Prints that survive salt and sun
Beach life is hard on shirts. Salt water, sunscreen, and long days in the sun all add wear. A few habits help a DTF print last:
- Press at full settings. 300°F, high pressure, 10 seconds, peel hot, then a 5 second post-press. Under-pressed prints are the ones that peel.
- Wash inside out, cold. Rinse salt and sunscreen out soon. Our DTF washing instructions spell out the rest.
- Pick a heavier tee. Thicker cotton gives the print a better base and holds up longer.
- Use a press, not an iron. An iron works, but the print won't last as long.
Pickup steps
- Order in the builder. Gang sheet or transfers by size.
- Call (818) 527-8264. It's a long drive, so confirm first.
- Come to 9736 Variel Ave, Chatsworth. Monday to Friday, 10AM to 5PM.
- Keep extras sealed. Unpressed transfers last 6 to 12 months if stored flat, cool, dry, and out of sunlight.
Stickers for bottles and coolers
Surf shops and outdoor brands often want stickers to go with the shirts. UV DTF stickers go on hard surfaces like water bottles, coolers, and helmets. They take 3 to 5 business days and are ordered through the form on our UV DTF page. Neighbors in Oxnard and Camarillo order the same mix.

About 47 miles, roughly an hour by the 126 and 118 or the 101. Most Ventura orders ship.

Pressed at our settings and washed inside out, yes. Rinse salt water and sunscreen out soon after wearing.
Can I print on garment-dyed shirts?
Yes. DTF works on garment-dyed cotton. Pre-press 5 seconds to remove moisture first.
