To make a gang sheet, size each design to the exact size you'll press it, export it as a 300 DPI transparent PNG, then arrange everything on one sheet with a small gap between designs so you can cut them apart. Fill the empty space with small designs. Check every file before you order.

What a gang sheet is
A gang sheet is one big transfer with many designs printed on it. You cut them apart and press each one. It's the cheapest way to get a lot of transfers at once because you're paying for the sheet, so every empty spot is money left on the table. If you're new to the idea, start with what is a DTF gang sheet.
Step 1: Prep your files at final size
Decide how big each design will be on the shirt before you touch the sheet. A left chest logo and a full front print are different files, not one file stretched two ways.
Not sure what size to use? The DTF transfer size chart lists common sizes by placement and garment.
Step 2: Hit 300 DPI at print size
Your art should be 300 DPI at the size it will print. A 10 inch wide design needs about 3,000 pixels across. Scaling a small, blurry image up in the layout won't add detail. It just makes the blur bigger.
Run your files through our free DPI checker to see the largest size each one can print cleanly.
Step 3: Use transparent PNGs
DTF prints everything in the file, including a white or colored background box. Export as PNG with a transparent background so only your design prints. Look for stray pixels and faint shadows around the edges, because those print too.
Full file requirements are on our artwork specs page.
Step 4: Leave space to cut
Designs packed edge to edge are hard to cut without nicking one. Leave a small gap between every design, about a quarter inch is a common choice, so your scissors or trimmer have room. You can trim close later. You can't add space back once it's printed.
Step 5: Nest small designs into the gaps
Large designs leave odd-shaped holes around them. That's where small pieces go:
- Sleeve and neck prints. Small and narrow, they slide into tight spots.
- Hat fronts. Short and wide, they fit along edges.
- Extras. Spare copies of your best seller or a few test prints.
- Rotate pieces. Turning a design sideways often fits where it wouldn't upright.
Rotating on the sheet doesn't change how it presses. You just turn it back when you place it on the garment.
Step 6: Fill the sheet
You pay for the whole sheet whether you fill it or not. Before you order, look at the empty space and ask what you could use from it: extra left chests, spares for misprints, a test piece for a new blank. Spare transfers keep for 6 to 12 months stored flat, cool, and dry, so extras aren't wasted.
Step 7: Group by size and placement
Put matching designs together. All the full fronts in one area, all the left chests in another, all the sleeves along one edge. It makes cutting faster and sorting easier when you're pressing a stack of orders.
Step 8: Check it before you order
- Size. Measure a few designs. Are they the size you meant to press?
- Quantity. Count each design. Easy to miss one or double another.
- Resolution. Anything flagged as low quality? Fix it now.
- Backgrounds. No boxes, no stray pixels.
- Spelling. Read every word on every design.
- Spacing. Every design has room to cut.
Common mistakes
- Thin lines on dark shirts. Hairlines can look weak. Thicken them up.
- Mixing specialty with standard. Glitter, puff, glow, and gold foil can't share a gang sheet with standard DTF.
- Wrong size. Measure a real shirt you already like and match it.
FAQ
What size should my gang sheet be?
Pick the sheet that fits your designs with the least empty space. Sheet sizes are listed in the builder, and the builder prices by sheet size.
Can I put different designs on one gang sheet?
Yes. That's the point. Mix logos, sizes, and placements on one sheet.
How much space should I leave between designs?
Enough to cut cleanly. Around a quarter inch works for most people.
Do I have to make a gang sheet?
No. Our builder does two things at the same link: build a gang sheet or upload by size.
Build your sheet
Once your files are ready, lay them out in the builder. Read more about custom DTF gang sheets if you want the full rundown.
