Reseda in a few facts
Reseda grew up around the corner of Reseda Boulevard and Sherman Way, where the original business district started in 1915. Before that it was farm country: lettuce, lima beans, sugar beets and walnuts. Today it is a dense, busy neighborhood of about 74,000 people in the 91335 ZIP code, with 15 public schools and a strong small business scene along its main boulevards.
It also has a pop culture streak. The Karate Kid moved Daniel LaRusso to Reseda in 1984, and Cobra Kai kept the dojo here. The Reseda Country Club hosted punk and new wave shows in the early 1980s, and the old Reseda Theater on Sherman Way shows up in Boogie Nights.
