One freeway from Moorpark

Get on the Ronald Reagan Freeway (CA 118) heading east, ride it through Simi Valley and over the Santa Susana Pass, and exit at De Soto Avenue. Go south to Lassen Street, then west to Variel. About 21 miles door to door from central Moorpark.

Metrolink's Ventura County Line also stops in Moorpark and in Chatsworth, if you'd rather ride. For the full story on our shop, see DTF transfers in Los Angeles.

What Moorpark prints

Moorpark College and the Teaching Zoo

Moorpark College opened in 1967 and is one of the few colleges with an exotic animal training and management program. Its America's Teaching Zoo has close to 200 animals and is run by students. Programs like that go through a lot of shirts: volunteer tees, event staff shirts, and class hoodies with animal art.

Animal illustrations are a great fit for DTF. Fur, feathers, and soft shading are hard to screen print without halftones and multiple screens. DTF prints the full color file as is. If your artist works in soft gradients, read our halftones guide before you finalize the file.

High schools and youth sports

Moorpark High School and The High School at Moorpark College, a dual enrollment campus on the college grounds, both generate spirit wear, club shirts, and senior gear. Add youth soccer, baseball, and football leagues and you get a steady flow of short runs with names and numbers.

Country Days and town events

Moorpark's Country Days parade and festival runs in late September or early October. The city also hosts an Apricot Festival in spring and a July 3 fireworks celebration. Parade groups, vendor booths, and volunteer crews all want shirts, and they all want them the week before.

Event shirts on a deadline

Here's how to keep a parade or festival order from going sideways:

  1. Lock the art two weeks out. Last minute logo changes are the most common delay.
  2. Collect sizes early. DTF doesn't care about shirt size, but your blank order does.
  3. Order standard DTF if time is tight. Orders placed before 1PM PT ship the same business day. Specialty finishes take 3 to 5 business days.
  4. Press a test shirt first. 300°F, high pressure, 10 seconds, peel hot.

Pickup in Chatsworth

  1. Build your order online. Gang sheet or single transfers by size, same builder.
  2. Call (818) 527-8264. Make sure it's ready before you drive 21 miles.
  3. Come to 9736 Variel Ave. Monday to Friday, 10AM to 5PM.
  4. Store leftovers flat. Sealed, cool, and dry, unpressed transfers keep 6 to 12 months.

Shipping vs. driving

From Moorpark, the drive is short enough to make pickup worth it for a rush order. For anything planned ahead, shipping saves you the round trip, and shipping is free on orders over $75. Pressing at home with an iron? It works, but a press gives a longer lasting result. Our gang sheet guide helps you fit more designs on one order. Neighbors on the 118 can check our Simi Valley page, and Thousand Oaks has its own page too.
