DTF Transfers for Embroidery Shops
DTF transfers for embroidery shops let you take the full color jobs thread can't do: photos, gradients, big back prints and performance wear. Press them on the same day you stitch the left chest. Printed in house in LA, no minimums, and same-day shipping on orders before 1PM PT.

Jobs embroidery turns away
- Photos and gradients. Thread can't blend colors the way ink does.
- Large back prints. A full back in stitches means a massive stitch count and a stiff, heavy garment.
- Fine text and thin lines. Small type closes up in thread.
- Lightweight and performance fabrics. Dense stitching can pucker thin polyester. See DTF on polyester.
- Names on every piece. Each name in thread means a new run. On a transfer sheet, it's just another design.
Pair it with your embroidery
The best embroidery and DTF jobs use both. Stitch the left chest logo for a premium feel, then press a full color back print. Embroider the hat front, and press a small full color design on the side. You sell a bigger job and keep the work in your shop.
Hats and patches
DTF presses onto hats with a hat press or a curved platen. Our guide to pressing DTF on hats walks through it. Transfers also work for patch-style designs: DTF patches shows how to make and attach them.
What you need
A heat press. That's the whole equipment list. Press at 300°F with high pressure for 10 seconds, peel hot, then post-press 5 seconds. Use a pressing pillow near seams and buttons. Full steps are in our DTF heat press settings.
Ordering
- Apply for wholesale on our wholesale DTF transfers page. Pricing comes by email, and wholesale orders move ahead of hobby orders.
- Convert your art. Your digitized DST file won't work. Send the original art as a transparent PNG at print size, around 300 DPI.
- Build a sheet. Put every design for the job on one gang sheet, or order by size for repeat logos.
Specialty looks
Want texture that competes with stitching? Puff DTF gives a raised print, and glitter and gold foil add finishes thread can't. Specialty orders take 3 to 5 business days.
FAQ
Can I press DTF next to embroidery?
Yes. Press with a pillow or pad so the stitching doesn't stop the platen from making full contact with the transfer.
Will a DTF print feel stiff?
Less than a large embroidered area. The transfer is a thin layer that flexes with the fabric.
Can I use my embroidery files?
No. Send the original artwork as a transparent PNG, not a stitch file.
Is there a minimum?
No minimums on any order.
